Perth Glory head coach Alistair Edwards and CEO Jason Brewer have agreed terms with former EPL defender William Gallas and his advisors.
Gallas, 36, has been without a club since leaving Tottenham in the summer. The experienced defender, who made 25 appearances last season in all competitions, has in the last couple of months been linked to English Premier League sides Crystal Palace, Hull City and Manchester City, as well as, fellow A-League team Melbourne Victory.
The Glory and Gallas will be a great fit given the youthful Glory defence could use the wealth of experience the Frenchmen will bring. The shock departure of Ljubo Milicevic just before the start of the season magnified this concern even more.
Capped 84 times for France, he will join Melbourne Victory’s Pablo Contreras as the second big-name defensive signing this A-League season.
