Van’t Schip ready to resurrect Heart

Melbourne Heart are going back in time when things might have been a bit sweeter by appointing former coach John Van’t Schip as interim coach until the end of the season. Van’t Schip returned to Australia yesterday afternoon and commenced his second spell at the Heart on Friday morning, taking the reins of training at Epping Soccer Stadium. The Dutchman, who was the inaugural coach of Heart when first appointed back in 2009, insists that he had no hesitation in accepting the job, despite the offer coming about in less than ideal circumstances. “It’s never nice to come into a…

Melbourne Heart Sack Aloisi

The decision came following a meeting of the Club’s Board on the weekend, where it was clear a decision to relieve John Aloisi of the Head Coach role was in the Club’s best interests. “John has been an absolute professional at our Club; as an inaugural player, as a coach of our National Youth League side and as Head Coach of our Hyundai A-League team,” Chairman Peter Sidwell said. “No one can question his professionalism while at Melbourne Heart FC, nor his significant contribution to this Club since its inception. I have spoken with John and he was gracious and…

Melbourne Heart goes into the derby without a league win since round 22 (February 24th) last season. Most would have reached for the panic button following the poor start Melbourne Heart have had this season, but signing Michael Mifsud still has hope in the players as they go into the Melbourne Derby on Saturday night. Malta’s all-time leading goal scorer has had his fair share of criticism this season with his lack off accuracy and contribution in front…
