Lions’ second half blitz secures win over Devonport

Kingborough Lions recovered from a slow start to comeback from 1-0 at half time and defeat the Devonport Strikers 3-1 at KGV in Hobart. Both sides started cautiously until Devonport started to gain the ascendancy. Devonport’s Adam Gorrie had a golden opportunity to open the scoring in the 17th minute when he rounded the Nomadic Lions’ goal keeper Andrew Duncan, who was well outside his goal area, but Gorrie lacked the confidence to finish from that distance and angle, attempting to square the ball to Jake Gleeson but the scrambling Lions’ defenders snuffed out the chance. Devonport didn’t have to…

Against the run of play Tenzing Anderson got the decisive touch to put Rangers up one nil. Following the goal Yitay Towns and Harry…

Knights Cut Through City

Glenorchy Knights have begun their 2015 PS4 Victory League campaign in the best possible fashion, sweeping aside Launceston City 4-1 at KGV on Saturday. After a less-than-impressive pre-season, little was expected of the Knights, but they produced a strong performance to easily account for a disappointing City outfit. Launceston had the better of the opening exchanges, and they were unlucky to see Bradley Martin’s shot ping off the upright in the 24th minute. From that point onwards it was all Knights. Midfielder Phin Aldridge, a standout performer all game, tucked home in the 30th minute, before Aaron Wilson buried a…
