Winless Melbourne Heart could yet again be left without Captain Harry Kewell when they battle it out against top of the table Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.

Kewell hasn’t played since sustaining a whiplash injury in the opening round against his former club, Melbourne Victory.  Although he will return to training this week the club on Tuesday said that he remains in doubt to face Brisbane.

Heart also expects to lose key defensive signing Patrick Kisnorbo with a knee injury, yesterday confirming that that Kisnorbo has not sustained any structural damage but will still need 3 weeks on the sidelines to recover.

This means that he will miss the matches against Brisbane Roar this coming Sunday, Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC in the coming weeks.

The former Socceroo limped off in the 52nd minute in his teams 1-0 away loss to Perth Glory on Sunday.

Kisnorbo injured his knee while trying to stop Perth’s Jamie Maclaren who ended up scoring the only goal of the game.

This comes as a blow to Melbourne Heart as they are currently sitting in 8th spot with only two points after drawing their opening two fixtures.
