Former Blacktown City Demons player Paul Katsetis has returned back to where it started by signing with the Western Sydney Wanderers. The creative midfielder returns to Australia after leaving in 2011 to join Greek Giants AEK Athens at the age of fifteen. It was here that he formed a close relationship with recent Socceroo’s call-up, Nathan Burns.

From AEK he would go on to join Serie A side Catania in 2012 where he would stay for two years before leaving at the end of the 2013/14 season. He played 14 games in his last season for the primavera side. His time at Catania was interrupted by injuries but he still impressed enough to get called up by Greece for two U17 internationals.

Upon leaving Catania he trialled in England with the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and in Holland with NAC Breda before finally returning home to the club he has supported since it’s inception into the A-League.

Due to leaving at such a an early age not much is known about the young trequarista but the 18 year old will be out to prove his worth and force his way in to the senior squad. He might get his chance to show his stuff as early as the Sydney derby this Saturday at Blacktown International Sportspark in the National Youth League.
